Master Bond Inc.'s Polymer System UV15X-6 is an optically clear, UV-curable adhesive/sealant that qualifies to the USP class VI protocol. It is a single-component urethane formulation that is 100% reactive and contains no volatiles. Cure is not affected by air or moisture, and the company says that the cured material exhibits physical strength, good elongation properties and high abrasive resistance. The adhesive adheres to a wide variety of elastomers as well as to plastics such as polycarbonates and acrylic resins. The bonds, which are good electrical insulators, are suitable for medical device assemblies.
