The R-3000 Raman analyzer system, offered from Ocean Optics Inc., performs real-time qualitative and quantitative spectral analysis of aqueous solutions, powders, tablets, gels and surface media from ~200 to 2700 cm21. It offers laser resolution of better than 10 cm21, wavelength stability of better than 1 cm21 and output stability of 4%. Software features include fingerprinting, quantification and a multiple-spectrum display function that enables overlays of up to 20 spectra. Available laser power levels are 125 and 250 mW. The system includes a high-speed USB interface, the choice of a 785- or 532-nm solid-state diode laser, a fiber optic probe, a laser shutter, a sample holder, software and safety goggles.
