FEMTOSECOND LASER Toptica Photonics AG has introduced the FemtoFiber femtosecond laser system for confocal microscopy, optical coherence tomography and generation of pulsed terahertz radiation. The fiber laser system uses a mode-locked ring oscillator as the master laser and up to two amplifier arms to produce sub-100-fs pulses with a repetition rate of 100 MHz. The wavelength can be tuned between 500 nm and 2 µm. Average output power is 200 mW per amplifier arm at a central wavelength of 1550 nm, 80 mW at 780 nm, 30 mW in the near-IR and >1 mW in the visible. Another module can be integrated to generate a supercontinuum, extending from 950 to 2000 nm.
