Twice the Spatial Sampling
TUCSON, Ariz., March 15 -- 4D Technology's PhaseCam 4010 is a high-performance, dynamic Tywman Green interferometer system that offers twice the spatial sampling of its original PhaseCam. Unlike old-style phase-shifting interferometers, the PhaseCam works by acquiring all of the information to compute a phase in a single exposure, and it is insensitive to vibrations.

The PhaseCam 4010 includes an innovative single camera and a high-speed optical phase sensor that eliminates the need for slow, bulky phase shifters and can acquire data in as little as 1 sec. -- over 10,000 times faster than conventional temporal phase-shifting interferometers. This new system has all of the features and benefits of the original PhaseCam: It enables precision measurements without the need of an isolation table, features a simple standard Camera Link interface and a single-mode HeNe laser that eliminates mode hoping and allows short exposure and long life.

The PhaseCam 4010's insensitivity to vibration and air turbulence make it ideally suited for production-floor quality control, optical metrology of large optical elements, astronomical optics and aerospace systems, cleanroom applications typically hampered by air flow turbulence, use in vacuum and environmental chambers and precise metrology on automated manufacturing machines such as polishers and diamond-turning machines.

In addition, measurements of moving parts such as scanner mirrors, spinning disks or vibrating membranes can all be performed easily, and their dynamic modal behavior can be investigated, with the PhaseCam 4010. Applications include aerospace, astronomy, optical fabrication and adaptive optics.

This turnkey instrument includes the interferometer mainframe, a fast Pentium IV computer system and 4Sight software. Powered by a simple, intuitive user interface, this advanced wavefront analysis software from 4D Technology features an easy-to-use suite of options for measurement setup, data analysis and graphical display of results.
