For assembly and handling applications, Balluff Inc. has unveiled the BOS 2K family of photoelectric sensors. Measuring 20 × 7.5 × 10 mm, the sensors have a scan range up to 1.2 m and can be attached in slots, pockets and guide rails. Sensing modes are diffuse, for part identification; diffuse with background suppression, for part configuration and placement; retroreflective, for part verification and counting; and through-beam, for part sizing and position information. A variety of reflectors, mounting brackets and connectors also are available. The IP67-rated plastic housing protects against harsh environments and enables long service life.
