The Optica Software Div. of iCyt Mission Technology Inc. has released a suite of optical design software for Mathematica. Rayica performs geometric, nonsequential, polarization ray-trace calculations of optical systems in 3-D space. It has a searchable component database that contains more than 6800 optical parts, facilitating the design of optical systems. Wavica employs Rayica and Mathematica to calculate analytical optical models for physical optics, global optimization, interference and Gaussian-beam propagation. LensLab is an entry-level package intended for amateur users.
