WIDE-ANGLE IR LENS

Photonics Spectra
Sep 2005
Tamron Co. Ltd.

Tamron USA Inc. has added a superwide-angle lens to its Mono-Focal IR series. The 2.2-mm-focal-length lens is available in manual and DC auto iris versions. Models 13FM22IR and 13FG22IR have 1/3- and 1/4-in. imagers, respectively, with a minimum aperture of ƒ/360 and a maximum of ƒ/1.2. The 1/3-in. imager produces an angle of view of 118.6° × 90.0°, and the 1/4-in. version, 90.0° × 67.9°, making them suitable for monitoring in small spaces. A proprietary multicoating process improves transmittance in the near-IR, eliminates flare and ghosting, and enables use at night.
