THERMAL IMAGING Optotherm Inc. has unveiled the R&D thermal imaging system, which has applications in product development, materials analysis, medical research and nondestructive testing. The cost-effective system consists of a wide-angle lens (resolution of 100 µm to ∞), the Infrasight ther-mal imaging camera, a tripod, cables and Thermalyze image analysis software. It captures images at 30 fps and obtains the temperature at 19,200 individual points on each image. With its level of spatial and temperature resolution, the R&D can identify temperature variations as small as 0.1 °C.
