RAMAN SPECTROMETER Avantes BV has added a thermoelectrically cooled Raman spectrometer to its AvaSpec line. AvaRaman-TEC achieves 8-cm−1 resolution over a wavelength range from 100 to 2300 cm−1. The CCD detector is cooled to 30 °C versus ambient conditions and stabilizes in ~90 s. Incorporated into the design are a temperature-controlled 785-nm diode laser with 0.2 nm FWHM and a high-resolution spectrometer. The instrument couples to a wide variety of fiber optic Raman probes and comes standard with version 6.2 AvaSoft-Raman software. Features include 14-bit A/D, USB and RS-232 interfaces, 14 digital I/O channels and simultaneous signal acquisition for dual-channel spectrometers.
