Passive coarse wavelength division multiplexing systems from ghip systems GmbH enable cost-effective multiple usage of fiber optic lines. Depending on fiber quality, as many as 16 applications can be transported over each line at up to 10 Gb/s. The systems can be used in conjunction with transceivers that have GBIC or SFP slots, and they can be used for metro access solutions, campus networks or enterprise backbones. The rack-mountable, nonpowered models are available with four, eight or 16 channels.
