The UL 04 17 1 uncooled infrared detector from Ulis is suitable for low-cost thermal imaging applications in medicine, driver vision enhancement, security and thermography. Based on an amorphous silicon microbolometer, the device comprises a 640 × 480 array of pixels set at a 25-µm pitch. It offers a noise equivalent temperature difference of 85 mK at f/1, 300 K and 60 Hz, and it features an easy-to-use electrical interface, single or dual analog video outputs, 80% area fill factor, spectral response in the 8- to 14-µm range and a thermal time constant of 7 ms.
