LASER AMPLIFIER Toptica Photonics AG has introduced BoosTa,an optical diode laser module that provides amplification of near-diffraction-limited laser beams without losses in spectral or spatial quality. Operating in the range of 730 to 1085 nm, the device can typically amplify laser power by a factor of 50 to 100, up to an output of 1 W, while achieving beam quality of M2<1.7. Suitable for pulsed and narrowband CW lasers, it maintains the source’s frequency and coherence properties during amplification. Applications include spectroscopy where nonlinear mixing techniques are used.
