PQEye from the Value Engineering Alliance (VEA) is a machine-vision instrument for inspecting print quality. Measuring 50 × 50 × 170 mm, including the lens, the device is suitable for narrow web print inspection tasks and for checking the position, correctness and quality of text and graphics on discrete parts, such as bottle caps. The appliance is sensitive enough to detect print defects a few pixels in size on media moving at up to 300 m/min, while differentiating between normal variations and unacceptable flaws.
