DTI-NanoTech, a division of Discovery Technology International (DTI) LLLP, has launched RoboMate, a motorized positioning system that provides rotational and linear motion. With the device, a tool’s tip can be positioned at any angle respective of a target sample and, once fixed, the approach angle of the rest of the tool can be varied continuously. The system comprises two rotary motors with a range of motion of 290° to 70° in steps of 2 arc sec, a platform with a range of motion of 50 × 50 × 50 mm in 0.1-µm steps and a joystick control. It is suitable for microelectronics, fiber optics, semiconductor, biological and medical applications.
