UV SPOTLIGHTS Hamamatsu Corp. has introduced the L9566 LC8 Lightning cure series, RS-232-controlled UV spotlight sources that include a 200-W Hg-Xe lamp that outputs 3500 mW/cm2 at 365 nm. The devices have a 3000-h lifetime, offer one-touch lamp replacement and do not require optical axis alignment. The Memory Step function allows the user to store and execute nine programs of up to seven steps each. An internal optical feedback function maintains the light intensity at a fixed level for stable irradiation. Applications include UV curing for CD/DVD pickup parts, UV curing of medical devices, fluorescence excitation and precision bonding of electronic components.
