CryLas GmbH has unveiled the FTSS 355-50, a diode-pumped, passively Q-switched solid-state laser for biology, biomedicine, chemistry and analytics applications. Operating at 355 nm, it consumes <100 W and draws 90 to 230 VAC or 24 VDC. It provides peak power of >50 kW, pulse energy of ≥50 µJ, and a pulse repetition rate with external trigger of 1 to 100 Hz. The laser’s pulse energy stability over 6 h is less than ±3%, and pulse width is ~1 ns FWHM. The device comes with an RS-232 interface, and software for control and monitoring is available optionally
