LOW-LINEWIDTH MOPA A <500-kHz-linewidth master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) laser system unveiled by Sacher Lasertechnik GmbH includes a Littman/Metcalf master laser and offers >45-dB side-mode suppression and a mode-hop-free tuning range of up to 100 GHz. The device, which produces optical power of up to 1500 mW, is available in wavelengths from 730 to 1080 nm. Full remote control is provided via GPIB, USB or RS-232 interface, and a motorized version is available as an option. Applications include high-resolution spectroscopy, optical cooling and trapping, Bose-Einstein condensates and replacement of Ti:sapphire laser systems.
