MICROSTEPPING DRIVER Intelligent Motion Systems (IMS) Inc. has upgraded its XIM481H microstepping driver with a patented motion control chip that adds active antiresonance, ultrasmooth low-speed motion and precise current control. Measuring 28 × 69 × 44 mm, the IM481H Plus performs demanding motion control applications and drives stepping motors up to NEMA size 23. Features include short-circuit and thermal protection, and adjustable automatic current reduction at full step and fault outputs. The 2.1-A peak driver accepts input voltages from 12 to 48 V and incorporates advanced ASIC technology to reduce motor heating. Sixteen microstep resolutions are built-in, from full step to 51,200 steps per revolution.
