Gentec Electro-Optics has introduced its thermopile-based extreme low-power detector for measurement in the micro- and milliwatt regimes in broadband applications. The portable XLP6-S combines the flat spectral response and low spatial dependence of a thermopile detector with the high sensitivity and compactness of a photodiode. The instrument produces low thermal drift and noise equivalent power as low as 1 µW and can measure optoelectronic pulse amplifiers as well as any pulsed or CW low-power laser, including HeNe and argon.
