FLUORESCENCE FILTER SET Semrock Inc. has expanded its family of BrightLine filters with the introduction of a quad-band fluorescence filter set. The company says that the six-filter DAPI-FITC-TRITC-Cy5 Pinkel set has up to four times the brightness, twice the contrast and lower crosstalk than conventional versions. High-efficiency quad-band beamsplitter and emission filters are mated with four “no burn out” single-band exciters to create bright, high-contrast images. The filters allow the user to better visualize multiple cellular organelles and proteins, nuclear DNA, mitochondria, apoptosis, fluorescence in situ hybridization, protein and neuron-glia interactions, synaptic architecture and function, receptor complexes and multiple fluorescent fusion proteins.
