ETHERNET INTERFACES Imperx Inc. has announced that Gigabit Ethernet interfaces have been added to six models of its Lynx series smart cameras, enabling them to feed network spans of up to 100 m without a repeater and eliminating the need for frame grabbers. The cameras have onboard intelligence for acquiring and analyzing images autonomously. With the addition of Ethernet output, they can package images and analysis results and send them directly to a PC, a storage area network or other network node. Using TCP/IP protocol, they also can feed output directly to the Internet.
