UltraSpec HT-940 high-dispersion volume phase gratings have been unveiled by Kaiser Optical Systems Inc. for telecommunications applications. Based on a proprietary high-throughput process, the gratings offer insertion loss of <0.35 dB and a dispersion of 940 lines per millimeter. They are not affected by mechanical shock or humidity, require no special handling and can be wiped clean. They are available in custom form factors from a few millimeters up to 4 in. long and wide.
