A 1.3-megapixel monochrome CMOS camera board with USB 2.0 output has been introduced by Videology Imaging Solutions Inc. The model 24B1.3XUSB operates at 15 fps at full 1280 × 960-pixel resolution, compressed, and at 8 fps uncompressed. It comes with WDM device drivers and is DirectX- and TWAIN-compliant. The 1/2-in. progressive-scan sensor achieves sensitivity of 0.01 l× to 1.1 µm in the near-IR. Video, power and full camera control are provided by a single USB cable, which controls many camera features via the free viewer software that runs on Windows 2000 and XP. OEMs can customize the camera with the available software development kit.
