NANOPOSITIONING STAGE For biotechnology and nanotechnology applications, PI (Physik Instrumente) LP has introduced the P-542 X-Y nanopositioning stage. The frictionless, flexure-guided design provides a travel range of 200 × 200 μm, and the high-performance piezo drives allow fast multiaxis motion with response times in the millisecond range. Capacitive feedback is integrated for closed-loop operation with subnanometer precision and good motion linearity with <0.03% error. The 80 × 80-mm aperture facilitates integration into microscopes and probes. X-Y, Z and X-Y-Z combinations are possible. A variety of analog and 32-bit digital controllers are available for research and OEM customers.
