VIBRATION ISOLATION A vibration isolation workstation that is Class 1 cleanroom-compatible (electropolish finish) or Class 10-compatible (clear passivate finish) has been unveiled by Kinetic Systems Inc. The 9600 series is made of stainless steel, with cylindrical welded braces providing maximum rigidity, minimum flat surfaces and easy wipe-down. Under maximum load at 80 psi and 10 Hz, typical vibration isolation efficiencies are 93%, with a vertical natural frequency of 1.5 Hz, and 95%, with a horizontal natural frequency of 1.6 Hz. Isolated weight capacity of 800 or 1300 lb can be ordered. Tables up to 36 in. deep and 60 in. wide are available. The proprietary active-air suspension system maintains a preset zero-deflection level to compensate for load changes.
