THERMOELECTRIC COOLING High-performance thermoelectric cooling modules have been launched by Elite Thermal Engineering for use with high-power laser diodes. The devices are engineered with proprietary technology that enables scalable cooling and that mitigates the heat-spreading problem that is common to conventional coolers based on a heat sink and a cold plate. The company says that the modules’ performance specifications have accounted for the spreading resistance for laser diodes. Their cold plates have mounting patterns suitable for most diodes, and custom patterns can be requested.
