For scientific and medical applications, Ushio America Inc. has unveiled the next generation of ceramic xenon lamps. The 300- and 175-W parabolic VAC lamps have extended lifetimes of 1200 and 1000 h, respectively, and carry a 700-h nonprorated warranty. Patent-pending designs improve lumen maintenance and provide higher arc stability. The VAC300-F-C5 and VAC175-F-C lamps are designed to replace the existing parabolic ceramic xenon lamps that are used in many surgical, analytical, industrial and medical fiber optic illumination systems.
