OEM MOTOR CONTROLLER An OEM motor controller has been unveiled by New Scale Technologies Inc. for its patented piezoelectric Squiggle motors. The MC-1000 driver combines features of the company’s SQ-2000 benchtop power supply and motor controller in a single card. It generates the two-phase ultrasonic waveforms required to drive the SQL or SQ-100 series linear motors. Each card drives one motor and optimizes the performance of that model. The MC-1000 is controlled by ASCII commands via its RS-232 port. It runs on a DC supply of 5 to 12 V, with a 300-mA maximum current.
