Vision & Control GmbH has enhanced its line of vicolux light sources with the use of more effective LED chips, resulting in 10 to 100 times brighter lighting that can serve wavelengths previously not possible. The components are supplemented by additional colors and by wavelengths at the edges of the visible spectrum: amber, UV and longer IR. Amber lighting at 617 nm matches the sensitivity of the semiconductor image sensors used in machine vision applications. With flash operation, illumination intensities of up to several million lux can be achieved. Suitable for machine vision applications, the light sources feature switching times from 10 µs to infinity and a voltage range of 10 to 36 VDC.
