Spectronic Devices Ltd. is offering miniature circuit boards that are suitable for use as the detector in compact spectrometers. The main controller and interface circuit measures 66 × 36 mm. Circuit boards are available for a variety of linear CCD detectors with 2048, 3000 and 3648 photodiodes, typically, and for photodiode arrays and back-thinned CCD detectors. All circuits have a preamplifier, an A/D converter and 512 kB of data storage. The devices are connected to a PC or an embedded processor system via a standard interface, and a choice of USB, RS-232 and parallel port is available.
