Newport Corp. has announced the SmartTable-UT, an optical table that can be upgraded with the company’s iQ active vibration dampers. Offered with two levels of passive damping performance and featuring internal docking and mounting surfaces, it is suitable for use with atomic force microscopes and photonic imaging equipment. The company says that the table provides a quiet work surface that supports faster settling times, minimized relative motion of the tabletop and long-term stability. The controller’s analog outputs can be integrated into the system as an additional feedback source for triggering, monitoring or halting processes based upon vibration levels.
