Polymicro Technologies LLC, a supplier of fused silica and natural quartz components, offers silica/silica optical fiber (FBP) broad spectrum optical fiber. The FBP characteristics include:
  • new lower-loss broad spectrum fiber, 275-2100 nm;
  • excellent focal ratio degradation characteristics
  • Step index, numerical aperture: 0.22 ± 0.02
  • silica core, doped silica clad
  • polyimide concentricity ± 3µm, tight tolerances
  • operating temperature: –65?C to +300?C
  • roof tested to 100kpsi
Custom sizes, buffers, jackets and assemblies are available. This fiber is designed to operate over a very broad range of wavelengths. It is produced with a patented process that allows more flexibility to meet smaller quantity requests for a variety of core:clad ratios.
