Fairchild Semiconductor has released the FOD0708 single-channel and the FOD0738 dual-channel 15-Mb/s optocouplers for industrial applications. Based on proprietary Optoplanar technology that reduces package capacitance, the 15-MBd devices have a 25-kV/µs common-mode noise rejection rating so that they can operate in noisy environments and a push-pull configuration that eliminates the need for a pull-up resistor, reducing power consumption. They are lead-free, have a high-speed LED and photodetector, and use a side-by-side configuration and an integrated proprietary silicon design on the detector chip.
