Keyence Corp. of America has released its LV-S series supersmall digital laser optic sensors: the LV-S31 adjustable-distance reflective; the LV-S41L 0.24-in.-thick, 1.1-in.-long side-view reflective; the LV-S41 side-beam-emission reflective; the LV-S61 straight-beam retroreflective; the LVS71 through beam; and the LV-S72 high-accuracy gap-detection through beam. All produce visible red beam spots with diameters of 0.05 in. (LVS41), 0.08 in. (S31) and 0.10 in. (S61 and S71). Detecting distance for all is 500 mm. The sensors operate with the LV-11SA, a 0.35-in.-thick amplifier that provides simultaneous digital display of light intensity and setting values and that operates in fine-, turbo-, super- and ultrapower modes using 16-bit calculation.
