OXFORDSHIRE, England, April 4, 2006 -- Intertronics said its Dymax 3099 adhesive is ideal for all high-quality display purposes where clean transparent bonds are needed on acrylic, glass and polycarbonate, either for screens or structural elements.

Dymax 3099 is "quick-curing and cosmetically superior" to solvent-based systems for applications such as cosmetics or exhibition of artifacts/technology items, the company said.

"Dymax 3099 offers ultrafast curing, superb clarity, high tensile strength, 95-percent elongation at break, good resistance to moisture and thermal cycling. Curing takes only a few seconds on exposure to moderate-intensity 365-nm wavelength ultraviolet light, enabling more productivity in both automated and hand-assembly processes," it said.

Dymax 3099 is capable of full cure in as little as 30 seconds at intensities as low as 10 mW/cm2, but curing does not take place until it is exposed to light, permitting precise positioning before bonding. A viscosity of 150 cP makes it suitable for applications in which the adhesive has to flow into tight bond areas; higher viscosities are also available.

The adhesive is 100-percent solvent-free, Intertronics said.
