Ibesn-Photonics.jpgIbsen Photonics A/S has released a USB-interfaced version of its I-Mon 80D interrogation monitor. The I-Mon 400E-USB model is suited for general-purpose applications, whereas the previous instrument was designed for OEM use. The new model has an extended wavelength range (exceeding 1525 to 1580 nm), enabling interrogation of more fiber Bragg grating sensors. The company says that it also offers higher resolution and better repeatability for higher overall accuracy. Its dynamic range of 60 dB makes it suitable for use in low-light applications. Using proprietary spectrometer technology and the company’s fused-silica transmission gratings, the instrument offers fast measurement frequency, low power consumption and a compact footprint.
