TIMING MEASUREMENT

For precise determination of an LCD screen’s timing dependency and electro-optical specifications, Eldim SA has introduced the third generation of its OptiScope timing measurement system. The imaging sensor is a photomultiplier tube with an embedded acquisition card to sample its signal. A CMOS sensor gives the user a direct view of the area where the timing signal is averaged. New features include a photopic filter for photometric measurements, systematically compensated electronic noise and an angular aperture of ±2°. Electronics include a 4-MB embedded memory sampled by a 16-bit A/D converter. Minimum sampling rate is fixed at 10 μs, with a 1-μs version also available. A USB 2.0 interface improves acquisition time.
