Centice Corp. has unveiled its Multimodal Multiplex Spectroscopy technology, which, the company says, provides 10 to 100 times higher optical throughput than do slit and fiber-coupled spectrometers. It uses a wide-area-encoded aperture instead of a slit, delivering high throughput without sacrificing spectral resolution or sensitivity, even though the mask images are overlapped when there are closely spaced spectral features. The aperture yields 3.5 to 12 times the signal-to-noise ratio produced by slit-based instruments. The technology is applicable to UV/VIS, near-IR, Raman and fluorescence measurement.
