Epner_IRWaveguides.jpgFor use with gas spectrometers, IR temperature measurement instruments, lasers, and oxygen and carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide gas detectors, Epner Technology Inc. has released its LaserGold-coated hollow waveguides. The coating is more than 98% reflective in the near-, mid- and far-IR. The company can apply it to the inside of a variety of shapes and cross sections. The bore of the waveguide is axially polished to create a smooth surface with RMS values of close to 10 nm. The waveguides are custom-fabricated in lengths of up to 1 m and diameters of 0.25 to >50 mm. Wall thickness variations can be from 25 μm to >6 mm.
