A 1550-nm pulsed fiber laser that delivers up to 30 μJ of pulse energy has been made available by Lumics GmbH. The LU1550F015 is a short-pulse erbium-ytterbium fiber laser in master oscillator power amplifier configuration. Pulse parameters are programmable via a USB interface, and the laser is controlled by a TTL interface. It emits in the 1540- to 1560-nm range with a single-mode fiber with high beam quality. Standard 0.7-m-long fiber is terminated with an FC/APC connector. Output power, pulse energy, repetition rate and pulse width can be downloaded via Windows XP software. A collimator and focuser are available options.
