Master Bond Inc. offers a one-component UV-curable/room-temperature vulcanizing silicone compound for bonding, sealing and coating. The dual-cure UV71DC polymer system reacts with UV radiation and with atmospheric humidity. When exposed to UV radiation of the appropriate wavelength and intensity, it cures in seconds and produces optically clear, durable, flexible, nonyellowing and chemically resistant adhesives, sealants and coatings that have good electrical insulation properties. The system can be used over the temperature range of –62 to 205 °C. Refractive index is 1.41, volume thermal expansion coefficient is 10 cc/cc/°C, tensile strength is 110 psi, and Shore A hardness is 25.
