Based on the proprietary OmniPixel architecture, the OV7949 analog single-chip CMOS image sensor released by OmniVision Technologies Inc. offers low-light sensitivity and reduced blooming for use with rearview and black box cameras in automotive applications. Operating temperature ranges from –40 to 105 °C. Built to the specifications of the Automobile Electronics Council AEC-Q100 criteria, the sensor is an enhanced pin-compatible plastic quad flat packaged upgrade of the company’s OV7940.
