Lake Shore Cryotronics Inc., Desert Cryogenics Div., has added a horizontal (in-plane) field electromagnet-based probe station to its line of cryogenic and superconducting magnet-based stations. Providing field strengths greater than 0.4 T and operating over a temperature range of 10 to 450 K, model EMTTP4 can be configured with up to four stable micromanipulated arms and can accommodate wafers of up to 1 in. in diameter. It is suitable for measuring materials such as quantum wires and dots, and organic and dilute magnetic semiconductors. The instrument characterizes parametric, magneto-transport, and electro-optical and other properties.
