Osram Opto Semiconductors.jpgThe SFH 5711 ambient light sensor from Osram Opto Semiconductors Inc. precisely matches the sensitivity curve of the human eye, making it suitable for applications where automatic changes in display brightness are desired. Measuring 2.2 × 2.8 × 1.1 mm, the device can be used with personal digital assistants, cell phones and such automotive instruments as displays and headlight switches. The sensor exhibits maximum sensitivity at 560 nm, operates with a supply voltage of 2.3 to 5 V and responds to a brightness range of 3 to 30,000 lx.
