A single-mode CW laser diode suitable for target designation, fiber laser pumping, spectroscopy and medical applications has been released by Frankfurt Laser Co. The 200-mW 850-nm laser diode is supplied in a 9-mm package in an N-type common cathode pin configuration. Threshold current is 80 mA, typical operating current is 300 mA, operating voltage is 2.4 V, and differential efficiency is 0.9 mW/mA over an operating temperature range from –20 to 40 °C. The company says that the device offers high beam quality and stable TEM00 performance.
