Because the Deepstar analog and digitally modulated laser diode manufactured by Omicron Laserage Laserprodukte GmbH does not indicate residual fluorescence content in the “off” moment during modulation, even at high rates, it offers almost infinite modulation capability. Part of the LDM series, the temperature-stabilized diode laser achieves 100-MHz modulation with a depth of >100,000:1. Signal rise and fall time is <2 ns. The laser is available with 20 mW of output at 375 nm, 60 mW at 405 nm, 50 mW at 442 nm, 20 mW at 473 nm and various powers up to 150 mW at 635 to 980 nm. The controller has an RS-232 interface and operates from a 24-VDC supply.
