The MBR-1000 manufactured by FSI Technologies Inc. is an industrial rotary optical encoder that features single- and dual-channel outputs and a heavy-duty 3/8-in.-diameter shaft and bearings. The device has high noise immunity, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection, an input voltage range of 12 to 28 VDC and low power consumption. Applications include robotics, speed control and machine tools. The encoder uses an industry-standard DB9 connector, and the outputs have source and sink capability. Ten models are available.
