06PS10_7.jpgMcPherson Inc.’s Raman workstations for spectroscopy are available for wavelengths from 325 to 830 nm. For short-UV wavelengths such as 244 nm, the company’s prism predisperser is used as a sharp cut-off filter. The systems include filters, a solid-state laser, and a sample chamber with laser-focusing and signal-collection optics. They also are available with a sample chamber that is compatible with cryogenic sample holders for photoluminescence applications. All elements are mounted, aligned and integrated with a research-grade, 350-nm, f/4.8 spectrometer with a CCD and software. The single-stage instruments easily detect wave numbers Raman shifted above ∼300 from the Raleigh scatter.
