SVS-Vistek GmbH has introduced the svs340, a high-speed machine vision camera with 640 × 480-pixel resolution. Operating at a rate of 250 fps, the camera has a Camera Link interface with Base configuration and is available with monochrome and color sensors. In partial-scan mode, it captures more than 1700 images per second. The CCD has a pixel size of 7.4 × 7.4 μm and is read out via two taps. The analog CCD signal is processed via correlated double sampling and digital signal conversion, resulting in a good signal-to-noise ratio. The internal microcontroller adjusts exposure time, gain and offset, and enables selection of trigger modes, including synchronizing image capture to an external event.
