General Photonics.jpgGeneral Photonics Corp. has released an in-line polarimeter designed for high-speed polarization analysis and monitoring. The PolaDetect with PolaView software (POD-101A) uses four channels to simultaneously obtain four Stokes parameters and measure instant state of polarization (SOP) and degree of polarization (DOP). Data is transferred directly to a computer via a USB interface. The instrument achieves a sampling rate of up to 48 KS/s, facilitating the monitoring, display and analysis of fast polarization changes. The software provides real-time graphical display of polarization, either on a Poincaré sphere window for viewing SOP traces or on an oscilloscope window for tracking polarization changes with time.
